• Barnes Lake Golf Outing 2022 by Rod Quick

    Castle Creek Golf hosted this year’s successful BL Golf Outing on September 10th. 13 Teams with 52 golfers competed for bragging rights and incredible prizes.  Mother Nature cooperated this year and we had a beautiful Michigan late summer day to socialize with our neighbors and chase little white balls all over Lum.

    Congratulations to the Janet Terwilliger’s Team for shooting outstanding golf and taking home the ST(Steve)-UD(Bud) Traveling Trophy. 

    We were able to donate $940 dollars to the Barnes Lake Association Fund. Rod Mills did an outstanding job running the 50/50 drawing and Red Tees and Mulligan’s were also available for a small donation and many golfers took advantage of these to lower their score. 

    ELGA Credit Union ran a Vegas Hole, Rod Mills/Morton Buildings donated several nice pieces of Morton gear, Dave and Katie Brandt passed out goody bags and several of our neighbors donated gifts to help make our raffle prizes special. 

    A “BIG THANKS” to all the golfers and volunteers that made this year’s BL Golf Outing a blast. Also a “HUGE THANKS” to all the folks who gave generous donations of door prizes. 

    Next year we will do it again on the second Saturday of September.

    Kyle Bonner and Ryan Pilarski have graciously agreed to relieve Sue and I of our duties and will run the BLGO next year. Thank You! I’m sure you’ll do a great job with the help of Sam and Jenda! 

    Thanks to all for your support over the years. Sue and I made many new friends and enjoyed our time golfing and socializing with all of you.

  • Barnes Lake Golf Outing 2022 by Rod Quick

    Another summer is rushing past us so it is time to start thinking about getting your foursome together for another round of golf.  This year we will be traveling to the beautiful metropolis of Lum, again, to play the Links of Castle Creek.

    Everything is the same.

    Date: 10 September 2022 

    Registration: 8-8:45AM

    Shotgun start: 9AM

    Cost: $40 per player CASH ONLY.

    Deadline to pay: Monday 5th September. CASH ONLY.
